Jyotika Saravanan was born on 18 October 1978 into a Punjabi Hindu family. Her father Chander Sadana was a film producer and her mother Seema Sadana was a Muslim. She has two siblings, Roshini and Suraj. Actress Nagma is her half-sister.
Jyothika and Suriya first met on the sets of the movie ‘Puvellam Kettupar‘ in 1999. They fell in love. After a long relationship, they got married on 11 September 2006 in Chennai. The couple has two children, Diya and Dev.
