Early Life
Diganta Manchhale was born on 28 December 1983 in a Havyaka Brahmin family in Sagara, Karnataka. Her father Krishnamurthy is a professor by profession and her mother Mallika is a singer. Diganta has an elder brother named Akash Manchhale. Diganta graduated from Sri Bhagwan Mahavir Jain College, Bangalore. After completing her studies, she started working as a model.
Diganta dated actress Aindrita Roy for 10 years. They tied the knot in 2018 in a traditional Bengali wedding ceremony at Nandi Hills in Karnataka.
Acting Career
2006 – Present
Diganta made his film debut in 2006 with the film ‘Miss California’. Initially, he played a supporting role. His career was successful with films like ‘Mansaray’, ‘Pancharangi’, ‘Life Ishtene’ and ‘Parijathar’.
He made his Bollywood debut with the film ‘Wedding Pullav’ released in 2015. In 2017, Diganta acted in the blockbuster film ‘Chauka’. The same year, he worked in the film ‘Happy New Year’ for which he was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor for Seema.
He played a supporting role in the film Jubarathana starring Puneeth Rajkumar. He worked in the film ‘Huttu Habbada Shubhshayagalu‘ in 2021. He played the role of a village boy in the film ‘Khamisi Nimma Khatheyalli Hanavilla’. He also worked in some parts of ‘Galipata 2’. His thriller movie ‘Jadha Jadha Hi’ was released in 2023. The movie in which he received both positive and negative reviews. The same year, he worked in a gangster drama ‘Uttarakhand’. In 2024, he acted in a comedy film ‘Bachelor Party’. He worked in another comedy movie ‘Marigold’.

Diganta was ranked 3rd in the top 5 Kannada actors by Rediff.com in 2011 for his work in the movie ‘Life Ishten’. He was ranked 19th in 2018, 9th in 2019 and 6th in 2020 in the Bengaluru Times’ list of 30 most desirable men. In 2024, Diganta and Aindritha donated a mechanical elephant to a temple in Mysuru with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
