Pudipeddi Sai Kumar is an Indian actor who works in the Kannada and Telugu film industries. He is also a television presenter. In his 4-decade acting career, he has won three Filmfare Awards, two Nandi Awards and two South Indian International Film Awards (SIIMA). He is also widely popular as a dubbing artist.

Personal Life
Sai Kumar was born on 27 July 1960 to Chennai-based actors P. J. Sharma and Krishna Jyoti. Sharma used to live in Vijayanagaram, Andhra Pradesh. Later, he moved to Chennai and worked as an actor and dubbing artist. On the other hand, Jyoti lived in Karnataka. She has also worked in several Kannada films.
Sai Kumar has 2 more brothers and 2 sisters. 2 brothers, P. Ravi Shankar and Ayyappa P. Sharma, are also involved in acting.
Kumar completed his Master’s degree in Arts from Presidency College, Chennai. Later, he completed his M.Phil degree from Madras Christian College, where he also taught for a while. Later, he left teaching and moved into acting. His son Adi is an actor in Telugu cinema.
Acting Career
Kumir’s father P. J. Sharma was a leading dubbing artist. Following his father, he also joined the dubbing industry at a young age. He made his debut in films as a child artist with the movie ‘Debudu Chesina Pelli’ in 1975. In 1977, he worked in his second movie ‘Sneham’.
He started working as an adult actor in 1984 with the movie ‘Challenge’. His other movies are ‘Kalikalam’ (1991), ‘Major Chandrakanth’ (1993).
He made his debut in Tamil movies in 1991 with the movie ‘Thaiyalkaran’. After that, he acted in movies like ‘Kaval Geetham’ (1992), ‘Vettiya Madichu Kattu’ (1998), ‘Aathi’ (2006), ‘Thenavattu’ (2008) and ‘Tiruvannamalai’ (2008).
His Kannada film “Agni” was released in 1997, the same year his other film “Central Jail” was released. In 2007 he acted in “Police Story 2” which was a box office hit. In 2016 his film “Rangitaranga” was nominated for an Oscar. In the same year he produced his son Adi’s film “Garam”. In 2019 he acted in an important role in the film “Bharat” with his brother Ravi Shankar and Ayyappa Srimuralim. Sai Kumar entered the OTT platform with the film “Gallivana”.
Television Show
Apart from films, he hosts the TV show ‘Deal or No Deal’ which is also aired in Telugu and Kannada. He also hosts the game shows ‘Wow-Sakkath Kick Kodo‘, ‘Wow S1 – Munchi Kick Ichcha’, ‘Wow S2’ on ETV Kannada.
