Roots and Origins
Yashika was born on 4 August in 1999 in a Punjabi Hindu family in Delhi, India. Her father’s name is Chetan Anand, mother’s name is Sonal Anand. She spent her childhood and adolescence in Delhi. She had a great interest in modeling since childhood. She completed her higher secondary education from M.O.P. Mahila Vaishnava College, Tamil Nadu. In view of this, she started modeling when she was in seventh grade. Along with her studies in school, she used to model and also worked in some advertisements. It is heard that she has also worked in video songs. She is also quite famous as an Instagram model.
Legacy in Films: Yashika ’s Contributions
Yashika made her debut in the film industry at a very young age when she was only 15 years old. She originally came to the film industry from modeling. In 2015, she got a chance to work in the movie ‘Eneme Ippadithan‘ at the age of 14, but she lost that job due to being absent from the movie set. Then she got another chance to work in the movie in 2016. She played the role of a swimming instructor in the movie ‘Kavalai Vendham’. In the same year, she worked in the movie ‘Dhurubangal Pathinaru’. Although the movie was of small budget, she achieved great success.
Then in 2018, Yashika worked in 2 movies back to back ‘Padam’ and ‘Thambi Ramaiah’s Maniyar Kudumbam’. In the same year, she acted in the comedy movie ‘Erattu Arayil Murattu Kuttu’ with actress Vaibhavi Shaandilya and Chandrika Ravi. It was one of the comedy movies released in Tamil. The movie was also a box office success.
She participated in the second season of the Tamil reality show ‘Big Boss‘, hosted by Kamal Haasan, in 2018. Although she was offered to appear in the first season, she declined. In the second season, she survived until the 98th day and finished 5th. She received a prize of 5 lakh Indian rupees as a reward for fulfilling some of the conditions of Bigg Boss.
In 2019, Yashika appeared as a mentor in the TV series ‘Jodi Unlimited’, which was aired on Star Vijay TV channel. Later, she got the opportunity to play the lead role in ‘Zombie’. Although the movie was animated.

In 2018, during the “Me Too” campaign in India, Yashika accused a director of harassment. In her complaint, she said, “A director tried to make a bad offer to Yashika, asking for sexual favors in exchange for a part in his film, she refused and accused the director of harassment.”

Yashika, as always, continues to work towards women empowerment in the society.
While out with friends, Yashika met with a car accident on July 24, 2021 in Mahabalipuram near Chennai and was seriously injured. Their car hit a divider and fell into a nearby pit. Some media outlets reported that one of Yashika’s friends died on the spot. Eyewitnesses said, ‘Yashika’s SUV hit the divider at high speed and fell into a ditch’.
